Halley&Co
Development and motion design: Eric Huguenin
Challenge
Halley&Co has been building identities since 2010 for Pernod Ricard, the Théâtre Antique d’Orange and Paper Republic. When an art direction studio commissions its own portfolio, the brief fits in three lines and the bar goes up a notch: the site is part of the work on show. A font weight slightly off, letter spacing out of place, an animation timing too long, and they see it. We had to render their design without losing any of it.
Approach
With an art direction studio, the relationship changes: they design, we build, and the discussion turns to details most clients never notice. We worked in continuous integration, with live versions from the first weeks. Halley&Co judged on screen, the only place where rhythm and timing get settled.
Key solutions
Custom WordPress theme, developed with Joshua Dupin. The studio composes its own project pages, alternating full width and columns without leaving the grid. We animated the navigation and transitions so that moving from one project to the next happens without any visible reload. The visuals, numerous and high-definition, are served in several sizes and load on demand, a must for a portfolio this dense to stay smooth.
